“Can You Hear Me?”

“Can You Hear Me?” sprouts from the immobilization of not knowing what’s going on in one’s body, an issue tightly linked to gender, standards of beauty, and perfectionism. Each piece is a regurgitation unique to a specific moment and time. Deeply rooted in her childhood, Josie utilizes feminine objects to act as an extension of her body, as well as to reflect on memories from her youth. This work was exhibited in the group art show “This is how it is for me, how is it for you?” in April, 2024.
